In a Brazil of colors and contradictions, Iara, a young descendant of indigenous peoples, lives in denial of her origins. Fear of prejudice and violence against indigenous peoples plunges her into a silent melancholy. While her sister Sofia tries to restore her pride in who she is, her encounter with Tainá, a young indigenous woman who carries the strength of her ancestors, awakens in Iara the beginnings of acceptance. Through pain, silence, and awakening, Iara learns that acknowledging her roots is also an act of resistance. A poetic portrait of identity, ancestry, and the strength of the women who sustain Brazil.
