Aditi Srivastava Modi, professionally known as the acclaimed singer-songwriter Itida, is a cultural enthusiast and author dedicated to the preservation and celebration of Indian heritage. Born Aditi Srivastava with family roots in Lucknow, India, her path has been one of discovery; after graduating from the University of California San Diego, she initially prepared for a career in law before pivoting to her true calling in the arts. Inheriting a rich musical legacy from her paternal grandmother, Aditi formally trained in Vocal Hindustani Classical music (Benaras Gharana) under the legendary Padmavibhushan Dr. Girija Devi. As Itida, she released the well-received albums Pen & Paper (2013) and the fusion project Des-Pardes (2014) via Hungama Music/Artist Aloud. Her work reigned in the Top 10 Independent music charts and earned her a Top 5 nomination for Best Female (Pop) at the 2015 Artist Aloud Music Awards. For her significant contributions to music and cultural representation, she was honored with the Uttar Pradesh NRI Ratna Award in 2017.
