Gerald Albright (born August 30, 1957) is an American jazz saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, known for his work in contemporary and straight-ahead jazz as well as his collaborations with numerous prominent artists. Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Albright developed an early interest in music, initially taking piano lessons before discovering the saxophone, which became his primary instrument. He attended Locke High School, a notable training ground for young musicians, and later studied at the University of Redlands, where he earned a degree in Business Management with a minor in music. During this period, he also expanded his musical abilities by learning bass guitar.
