Javier Ruán Jaimes (1940–2021) was a Mexican actor, screenwriter, educator, and voice actor with a career spanning more than five decades. Trained in philosophy, pedagogy, and dramatic arts at institutions including the INBA and the Escuela Normal Superior, Ruán combined intellectual rigor with a deep social sensibility. He made his film debut in 1967 in Corona de Lágrimas (dir. Alejandro Galindo) and went on to appear in over forty films, earning an Ariel Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Los Marcados (1971). Alongside his extensive film work, he became widely recognized for his roles in Mexican television and radio, as well as for his acclaimed work as a writer.
